INAF queue observing, 2026 Apr 02 - Apr 03

Observers: Ezequiel J. Marchesini, Felice Cusano, Roberta Carini

ISA: Justin Rupert

AO Support: Greg Taylor

Telescope Operator: Josh Williams
Instrument: PEPSI, LUCI2

Summary

At sunset the sky presents thick but patchy clouds, seeing at 2". The night improved to clear skies and 0.9" seeing later on, but with high winds at 16 m/s from SW.

With LUCI1 under maintenance, the telescope has showed some pointing issues that need solving. However the software team was unable to do so. The telescope remains closed for the night.

INAF queue observing, 2026 Apr 04 - Apr 05

Observers:
ISA: Justin Ruppert
Telescope Operator: Josh Williams
Instrument: LUCI2, PEPSI

Summary

These observations have been performed in service mode, due to the unavailability of the LBT-Italia observers. Clouds were a nuisance for a significant portion of the night. We have limitations in the use of binocular observations of LUCI: only LUCI2 available. We start the night with LUCI2 but then we switch to PEPSI at 04:26UT due to clouds, and we switch back to LUCI2 at 05:57, when clouds moved away. Clouds came back towards end of the night.

Night duration (12 degree - twilight) 03:00 - 12:00 UT = 9h 00m

INAF queue observing, 2026 Apr 05 - Apr 06

Observers:
ISA: Justin Ruppert
Telescope Operator: Josh Williams
Instrument: PEPSI

Summary

These observations have been performed in service mode, due to the unavailability of the LBT-Italia observers. Clouds were a nuisance for a significant portion of the night. We start with LBC but no science data have been taken due to clouds, we reconfigure to PEPSI at 02:40UT. We take some data until 08:26UT, when we close due to clouds. Then, Josh calls the night due to clouds at 11:17UT.

Night duration (12 degree - twilight) 03:00 - 12:00 UT = 9h 00m
Observing time: 5hr 26min (60.4%)
Weather time loss: 3h 34min (39.6%)
